Knit this lovely scarf in one piece, with no seaming and no provisional cast on. For those who have not done lace before, this scarf introduces the knitter to some simple lace techniques such as:
1. Knitting a simple edging.
2. Picking up stitches along an edging.
3. Double yarn overs.
4. Slipping stitches.
Beginning to intermediate knitters with some experience in increasing and decreasing stitches.
During the class, the knitter should be able to complete the beginning edging and start on the body of the scarf. Students will leave the class with a good start on this project.
Students will need to bring one skein of sock yarn in their favorite colorway (this pattern works equally well for solids, tonals, and hand-paints) along with a pair of US #6 knitting needles, either straight or 24 inch circulars.
